edX Course: Becoming a More Equitable Educator: Mindsets and Practices

Join MIT professor Justin Reich and Vanderbilt University professor Rich Milner this March-May in a free, online course for educators: Becoming a More Equitable Educator.

With colleagues from your school or organization and online learners around the world, you will participate in cycles of inquiry, practice, and action, and then complete a plan to take action in your context. In each cycle of inquiry, you will examine dimensions of inequality through educator mindsets, imagine community change through documentary case studies, rehearse taking action through digital practice spaces, and begin to try out changes through action-oriented assignments.

By the end, you will gain a better understanding of yourself and your students, new resources to help all students thrive, and a plan to work in your community to advance the lifelong work of equitable teaching.

You can enroll in the course by clicking here: http://bit.ly/TSLEquityE. Course is open from March 24-May 28, 2020.

Nicole Erb, HAEd Director of Chapters, is taking the course and will lead periodic virtual discussions with other HAEd participants. We would love to have you join us! Once you register, please email Nicole at nms790@mail.harvard.edu to get on the virtual discussion list. Please also reach out if you have any questions. We look forward to learning with you!
