Moderator: Dr. Nell O'Donnell Weber
Eleanor (Nell) O'Donnell Weber is an independent consultant with expertise in early childhood education, emergent literacy and numeracy, and global education. She is currently providing technical expertise on a project to understand the beliefs and behaviors related to early learning of the parents in Jordan, with a special emphasis on Syrian refugees. Nell holds a master's degree in international education policy and a doctoral degree in cultures, communities, and education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Dr. Lisa Walker
Lisa Walker is an Education Advisor with the Humanitarian and Stabilisation Operations Team (HSOT), a UK aid funded programme implemented by Palladium. She is currently providing technical advice on education in emergencies to support FCDO’s programmes in Syria. She has over a decade of experience contributing to the design, development, implementation and evaluation of education programming across East Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. Lisa earned her PhD in International Education at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education and her EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her research examines the nature of educational inclusion and exclusion as it unfolds within low-resource contexts.
Dr. Vanessa Beary
Bio: Vanessa is Vice President of the American Swiss Foundation (ASF) and is an alumna of ASF's 2016 Young Leaders Conference. She works closely with the President to develop and implement strategic outreach to members and alumni of the Young Leaders Conference, organize and execute events for members and donors, and manage relationships with the media and general public.
Becky Wolozin, Esq.
Becky joined the Legal Aid Justice Center (LAJC) in September 2015 as an Equal Justice Works Fellow sponsored by The Morrison Foerster Foundation. Becky currently directs the Immigration Litigation Clinic at George Mason Law School, hosted by LAJC, and works in LAJC’s Immigrant Advocacy Program, advocating on behalf of immigrants in Northern Virginia. She has spearheaded LAJC’s work with unaccompanied minors in federal custody. Becky is a graduate from Harvard Law School and holds a Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She focused her studies on child development, education law and immigration law.
